It seemed only fitting Ender Inciarte caught the first last out ever recorded in SunTrust Park history. Over the course of the previous three hours, the Braves' center fielder had highlighted a 5-2 win over the Padres by recording a number of memorable firsts in this new stadium's history.

"I wasn't trying to do too much, but I knew it was going to be a special night for me," said Inciarte, who will forever be recognized as the man who recorded the first hit, home run and out in the history of Atlanta's new ballpark cheap jerseys.

Energized by a sold-out crowd of 41,149 and pregame ceremonies that featured many of the Braves' legends, Inciarte highlighted his night of firsts when he created some late cushion with the two-run, sixth-inning home run he hit down the right-field line against Craig Stammen.

The moon shot, which had a 40-degree launch angle (matching the highest recorded on a Braves home run during the Statcastâ„¢ era) was the third homer in a seven-at-bat span for the outfielder, who totaled three homers in 522 at-bats last year.

"I had a really good feeling about tonight," Inciarte said. "When I got to a 3-0 count, I was ready to swing. I knew I had to take a strike, but I knew I was going to swing hard and I got the good result."

He used his speed to beat the throw a slightly shifted third baseman Ryan Schimpf made after ranging to his right to grab a slicing low liner after it hit the infield dirt.

A few moments later, Inciarte tallied the park's first run. He moved to third base on a Freddie Freeman double -- the stadium's first extra-base hit -- and then scored when Nick Markakis drove in the first two runs with a double off the right-center-field wall.

"I was just trying to see the ball and hit it," Inciarte said of the first hit. "[Padres starter Jhoulys] Chacin had really good movement on his fastball tonight, and once I got that pitch and that infield single, I think everyone was just feeling good about discount jerseys."

There was certainly a special buzz throughout the night, and the day's celebratory feel advanced to another level when Jim Johnson's scoreless ninth inning was capped by Inciarte securing Luis Sardinas's game-ending flyout.

"Everybody was pumped in the dugout," Inciarte said. "You have that energy out on the field. So, that's what we were looking for. We know the fans can give us that energy every day, and we can do a lot of great things in this ballpark."

After watching film of the Jets' 41-10 thrashing at the hands of Indianapolis on Tuesday morning, coach Todd Bowles decided effort wasn't the issue.

"We got effort, we just didn't play with much intelligence last night," Bowles said about mistakes he labeled as "boneheaded" by the team. "How you address it? It is what it is. When you get in this business, you coach and play for your job and cheap jerseys every day; win, lose or draw. That's no different now."

At this point, even if that was true, Bowles is going to have a hard time finding someone to believe him. The fans who attended Monday night's game were treated to two of the most efficient touchdown drives we've seen out of Andrew Luck all season on the first two drives. There were no Jets defenders near Dwayne Allen on either of his first two touchdowns.

The only Jets jerseys players working to the whistle seemed to be the three who were hit with personal foul penalties in the first half for shoving Colts players out of bounds or after the play.

But right now, this isn't about what I think or what any Jets (3-9) fan thinks. Those minds seem to be made up already. Bowles has the yeoman's task of convincing his players to play for him down the stretch in a series of meaningless games while they take a look at a second-year quarterback.

The Colts released cornerback Antonio Cromartie jersey and waived inside linebacker Sio Moore, the team announced.

Cromartie was signed in a late-August fit of desperation when starting cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Patrick Robinson jersey each went down with injuries.

The 32-year-old cornerback was benched in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars after allowing a touchdown to star receiver Allen Robinson at London's Wembley Stadium. He was deemed expendable with Davis and Robinson back in the lineup and slot corner Darius Butler due back soon.

Acquired in a September 2015 trade with the Oakland Raiders, Moore was part of an inside-linebacker rotation with Josh McNary and rookie Antonio Morrison opposite veteran D'Qwell Jackson. He was a liability in coverage, too often leaving the middle of the field open for big plays.

nike-colts-78-ryan-kelly-royal-bluewhite-mens-stitched-nfl-elite-fadeaway-fashion-jerseyThe Indianapolis Colts hadn't had a 100-yard rusher in almost four years. On Sunday, that insane streak ended in appropriately absurd form.

Frank Gore's 20th carry of Sunday night's game against the Texans resulted in a two-yard gain to put him at an even 100. It was the Colts' first individual 100-yard rushing game since Week 15 of the 2012 season, a span of 55 games. The most annoyingly repeated stat since 2014's "DID YOU KNOW THE CHIEFS DIDN'T HAVE A WIDE RECEIVER WITH A TOUCHDOWN THIS SEASON?" was caput.

Until it wasn't. Later in that same drive, after a false start penalty and sack, Andrew Luck took a third-and-20 snap and handed it to wholesale NFL jerseys and poor Frank Gore, who was swarmed over for a loss of one yard. Back to 99 yards for the night!

The Colts are shutting down Kendall Langford.

Indianapolis officially placed the veteran defensive lineman on injured reserve on Saturday after coach Chuck Pagano suggested in Week 7 that Langford would not return this season. The 30-year-old has been sidelined with a knee injury since then. Langford had played in 135 consecutive games at the time, the most by any active defensive lineman.

Langford is still eligible to return this season, if the Colts make a deep playoff run.

After tallying seven sacks in his first season in Indy in 2015, Langford failed to register a sack in seven starts this year.

In a corresponding move, the Colts promoted cornerback Christopher Milton to the active roster.
